THE CONCEPT
Sinueux Amour explores the excitement, awkwardness and spontaneity of young romance through a visual identity inspired by first dates, stolen glances and fleeting moments of connection. Drawing from the emotional highs and lows of romantic relationships, the project celebrates the warmth, optimism and unpredictability often associated with falling in love. The name, pronounced sin-u-ah-more, echoes the word cinema while incorporating a French influence that reflects the festival’s romantic focus. This blend of cinematic and romantic references establishes a distinctive personality for the festival, creating a playful and inviting identity that resonates with a younger audience.

The identity was developed across a series of print and digital touchpoints, including posters, publications and a festival website. A bold pink colour palette was used to represent the emotional spectrum of romance, ranging from passionate and energetic tones to softer, more innocent hues. The customised Poster Cut Neue typeface introduces a handmade collage aesthetic that reflects the imperfect and spontaneous nature of young love, while simple digital illustrations with thick line weights create an approachable and playful tone. A recurring heart motif acts as a unifying visual device throughout the system, ensuring consistency across all festival materials and strengthening recognition of the Sinueux Amour brand.
